If other apps signed with the same certificate open normally, the certificate is usually not the first place to look. The failing IPA may be incompatible, damaged, incorrectly modified, missing an entitlement, or signed with unsuitable settings.
Common IPA-specific causes
- The app does not support your iOS or iPadOS version.
- The IPA was corrupted or incompletely downloaded.
- A tweak or injected library is incompatible with the app version.
- The bundle identifier conflicts with another installed copy.
- The app requires an entitlement or service that is not available in that signing configuration.
- The app contains a device, architecture, or minimum-version restriction.
- Existing data from an older app build conflicts with the replacement build.
How to isolate the problem
- Sign and open a different known-good IPA with the same certificate.
- Download a clean copy of the failing IPA from a trusted source.
- Try signing it without optional tweaks or injected libraries.
- Review the bundle identifier and entitlements.
- Back up important app data, then test a clean reinstall if appropriate.
If the known-good test app also fails, return to certificate and signer troubleshooting. If only the original IPA fails, contact the IPA provider or AppTesters support with the app name, version, source, iOS version, signing method, and crash behavior.
AppTesters can help identify whether the certificate and signing process are working, but cannot guarantee that every third-party IPA will be compatible or stable.
